Description
HMY Royal Caroline was originally built as a ship rigged yacht intended to replace the Carolina as Britain’s Royal yacht. Built at the Deptford Dockyard, she was launched in 1750. As the Flagship of Admiral of the Fleet, she was the transportation vehicle For Duchess Charlotte to journey from Cuxhaven, Kiel to marry George the 3 rd in England. The Royal Caroline went on to play an important part in English Navel history until her demise in 1820.
